How it works
sequenceDiagram participant Shop participant Rider Shop->>Rider: Estimate on WhatsApp Rider-->>Shop: Approve or reject Shop->>Rider: Ready for pickup + Cashfree link Shop->>Rider: Service due by km or time
- Template notifications fire when a job card is created, an estimate is ready, the bike is ready for pickup, or payment is received.
- The estimate link lets the customer approve or reject on the phone. Rejected estimates are revised and resent; approved estimates become the invoice later.
- Cashfree payment links ride the same channel so UPI collection is not a screenshot in a group chat.
- Service reminders by km or time, plus insurance and PUC expiry, bring the bike back without a manual call list.
Key facts
- WhatsApp is primary; email, SMS, push, and in-app also exist.
- Estimate approve/reject on the customer phone.
- Cashfree payment links for invoiced, paid, partial, and overdue balances.
- km/time service reminders and insurance/PUC alerts.
Indian workshops already live in WhatsApp. The failure mode is that the group chat is not a ledger. Tyming Chain keeps the message events on the job card so the owner can see what was sent, not guess. Related: GST billing and job cards.
Service reminders are not spam if they match the bike. A 3000 km oil service and a PUC expiry are different events with different copy. Targeted offers (for example 20% labour for customers absent 90+ days) reuse the same channel with a segment, not a blast to every number in the phone. Owners still get in-app alerts for blocked jobs, cancelled work, overdue purchase orders, and high-value estimates that need a human follow-up the same day before close.
